While lithium will still play a minor role in applications where weight is top priority, Sodium can replace lithium where cost, performance, and safety, are more important.
Sodium is best used on electrically dependent aircraft where the battery must be 'fault tolerant' (agm) vs 'fault sensitive' (lithium) to absorb any voltage fluctuations/spikes.

If your away from home base at an unattended strip.. your in a desperate situation. Even a well traveled airport rarely has an FBO that carries the size battery you would need.. and if they did, it would cost you a fortune. That's why we have developed a Sodium ultra safe (safer than lead or lithium) replacement emergency battery to be carried in the plane for emergency use. Jump starters are ok for autos but not airplanes.
