Sodium-ion batteries offer substantially greater energy density than AGM batteries, along with additional performance benefits, making them an attractive alternative in aircraft applications despite being a newer and developing technology.

Compared to lithium; “advanced state-of-the-art” internal circuitry is no longer a prerequisite for battery safety. Sodium is INHERENTLY safe and therefore does not require electronic protections to make it safe.

For those needing a new battery having the same tremendous  engine starting power as lithium,(even greater in temperature extremes)  piston or turbine, same long life, ZERO maintenance, 14 or 28V, higher resting voltage than lithium, 1/3rd the weight of AGM, works with any size alternator/generator AND is inherently safer than lithium and lead-acid at a better price than lithium, you have landed at the right place.

Lithium had a good run since Aerolithium introduced LiFepo4 batteries to aviation in early 2011, but now, a new battery chemistry of Sodium (NaVPO4) has now achieved parity with Lifepo4 (LFP) in every regard except price: A Sodium aircraft battery can be made for about 25% less than a comparable lithium battery (closer to lead-acid.)

Sodium’s greater benefits, high cranking power and lower cost equals better value for your money.

Our new Sodium Aircraft Batteries are for the early adopters that want to switch away from lead-acid but have concerns about lithium. A Sodium Aircraft Battery has the same drop-in functionality as LFP/AGM and adapts to your aircraft’s charging system.

The simplicity of Sodium is just one of it’s advantages over lithium w/o the uncertainty of a BMS failure; built to FAA RTCA stds.

Fitment:

Since 80% of experimental aircraft batteries use the standard pc680 dimensions and battery box, our Sodium Aircraft Battery will be of similar dimensions with 16Ah, vs others with 15.6ah for lithium and 12ah for lead-acid ( at 1C measured discharge ).
